Welcome to the 2014 edition of the Nationwide Series Fantasy Game.
I'm running the nationwide series game instead of tmatt this season due to tmatt pursing other obligations and won't have a computer to keep up with everyone's picks & scores so i'll take over the duties for the 1st time so my apologizes in advance if I screwed one of you up.
So i'm gonna keep the rules that's tmatt has in place this season unless some of you might have suggestions on tweaking it then I might be open to it if the majority are for this change. So i'm gonna copy what tmatt posted from last season.
Lastly the only difference with tmatt and then myself's way of keeping up points, is instead i'm gonna post the points you'll see in google doc of mines mostly like how ebbs got that for the cup fantasy league.
Rules are as follows (they are the same as last year, new parts will be posted in a different font color if there are any future changes):
Pick 3 drivers who you think will finish up front in the next Nationwide race (they do NOT have to be running for the Nationwide championship in points, they just have to be in the race). Points are awarded based on how many NASCAR points each of your drivers get (or would have got had they been running for the Nationwide championship). 5 additional bonus points are awarded if your picks finish 1-2-3 in the race.
And the big rule to keep things fun: You CANNOT pick the car #(s) in 2 consecutive races. You must have 3 different cars. For example, even if you pick the #22 car with Brad Keselowski one race, you cannot pick the #22 car the next week, even if somebody else is driving it, like Joey Logano. And yes, I do check to see if you are picking different car(s) and driver(s). Your picks must be in prior to the green flag. NO EXCEPTIONS.
For the sake of my organization, it is recommended that you wait to make your picks until you are absolutely sure who you want. That said, if you post your picks early and decide to make a change prior to the race, please send me a PM saying who your new picks are. That way I can be sure everybody has the picks correctly entered that they actually want, thus preventing conflicts after the races. If you do not PM me and I do not notice your change, your picks will not be changed and you will be stuck with your originals.
Chase rules are as follows:
Following Richmond, the top 8 in points are in the Chase, and joining them are the 2 drivers 9th-20th that have the most round wins (tie breakers are then wins by pick, then by points). Then, the points are aligned as follows (based off of standings after Richmond) :
From there, you get 2 bonus points for each win by a pick you have, 5 points for each round win you have, and 1 bonus point for every race you made your picks (as a way of rewarding those who have stuck out this entire season). 9th & 10th do not get bonus points for their round wins (just like real life wild cards).
For those who do not make the Chase, you will have your own "Battle for 11th". Following Richmond, the points will reset as follows:
Rules for bonus points will remain the same as those who are in the Chase, except everybody gets bonus points for your wins, no matter where you are in points.
If you want to participate, just simply post saying so (even if you were in last year and want to be in again, please say so). Race results & point standings will be posted in posts 2-5 (updated weekly) so that I don't make a million posts just putting up results.
