    Nascar in 2016

Basically, imagining who will be with what team in 2016. This list includes all major active current teams, plus teams that I believe will be in Cup in 2016.

    Hendrick Motorsports:

5-Kasey Kahne: I believe Kahne will stay with Hendrick, as he is the future of that organization.

48-Jimmie Johnson: Johnson will have signed a lifetime contract with Hendrick by that time, and will stay.

88-Dale Earnhardt Jr.: Junior stays with Hendrick until he retires, renews his contract.

94-Chase Elliott(R): This is Hendrick's only change. Chase Elliott races full-time in the Nationwide series in 2014 and 2015, and in 2016 comes in and takes over for Jeff Gordon, who retires in 2015. The #24 becomes the #94. Runs for ROTY.

    Joe Gibbs Racing:

11-Denny Hamlin: Denny Hamlin remains with Joe Gibbs Racing.

18-Kurt Busch: Kyle Busch's contract runs out at the end of 2013. Joe Gibbs pulls a quick one and signs brother Kurt. Gibbs harnesses his inner coach and Kurt Busch mellows out permanently.

20-Matt Kenseth: Matt Kenseth isn't going anywhere. Will retire at JGR.

76-Darrell Wallace Jr.(R): Bubba runs 2013 under the KBM banner. Replaces Brian Vickers in the Nationwide #20 in 2014. Runs two years in Nationwide and comes up in the fourth JGR team for 2016. Runs for ROTY.

    Roush Fenway Racing:

6-Trevor Bayne: Bayne comes up to run full-time in 2014. Still with the team in 2016.

16-Regan Smith: Smith wins the Nationwide championship in 2013 and 2014. Greg Biffle's contract is not renewed at the end of 2014 and Roush signs Smith.

17-Ricky Stenhouse Jr.: Stenhouse remains with Roush. Becomes the top driver there after 2014.

99-Carl Edwards: Cousin Carl remains with Roush through 2016 and beyond.

    Richard Childress Racing:

3-Austin Dillon: No surprise here. Dillon moves up in 2014 and bring the #3 with him.

27-Paul Menard: Menard becomes more and more competitive as time wears on. Remains with RCR and is a stout contender to make the Chase every year.

31-Greg Biffle: Childress signs Ryan Newman for 2014. Newman underperforms, and Childress replaces him with Greg Biffle in 2015.

41-Ty Dillon(R): Ty Dillon brings his special #41 to Cup. Runs for ROTY.

    Michael Waltrip Racing:

15-Clint Bowyer: Bowyer remains with MWR. No change here.

55-Brian Vickers: Vickers takes over for 2014 and beyond. No change afterwards.

56-Martin Truex Jr.: Truex remains with MWR. No change here.

    Stewart-Haas Racing:

10-Danica Patrick: Danica remains despite performing like crap. She makes everyone too much money to go anywhere else.

14-Tony Stewart: Stewart obviously remains. No change.

29-Kevin Harvick: Harvick remains also after starting in 2014.

    Penske Racing:

2-Brad Keselowski: Keselowski remains here. No change.

12-Sam Hornish Jr.: Hornish finally comes up to Cup in 2014 after an amazing NW run in 2013.

22-Joey Logano: Logano remains with Penske. No change.

    Richard Petty Motorsports
    :

9-Michael Annett(R): Ambrose retires after 2015. Annett takes over. Runs for ROTY.

43-Aric Almirola: Almirola becomes more competitive. Remains with RPM.

    Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing
    :

1-Ryan Newman: Newman takes over for 2015 and beyond after being canned from RCR.

42-Kyle Larson: Larson takes over also for 2015 and beyond.

    Furniture Row Racing:

78-Jamie McMurray: After being canned from EGR, McMurray finds his home at Furniture Row. Does not perform well, as the RCR support decreased after Kurt Busch left.

Turner Scott Motorsports: (comes up to Cup in 2014)

28-Elliott Sadler: Sadler comes up to Cup with TSM in 2014 for the veteran leadership that the team needs.

30-James Buescher: Buescher comes up to Cup with TSM in 2014.

32-Justin Allgaier: Allgaier comes up to Cup with TSM in 2014.

Notes: Team will get engines from Hendrick.

    Kyle Busch Motorsports
    : (in Cup in 2014)

54-Kyle Busch: Kyle Busch moves to his own team from JGR.

77-Parker Kligerman: Kligerman comes up in 2015 with Kyle's 2nd team.

Notes: Kyle agreed with Joe Gibbs that he'd do his own thing, but still use Gibbs chassis and TRD motors. Monster Energy funds the team greatly, sponsoring both cars.

KBM isn't coming to Cup any time soon, Gibbs will never let Kyle go, and Kurt Busch is almost certainly going to end up at RCR, while the Dillon bros are at Furniture Row.

Hopefully by then a Manufacture-owned team or two will join NASCAR (Audi and Dodge?) and NASCAR will switch to a knockout qualifying system.

Marcos probably wont be in NASCAR in 2016. If he is, it will probably be his last. He has said the he has a couple of years back in him and then he may head home, possibly back to the V8's. He hasn't said anything about the V8's. That is just a prediction, which can be sorta supported by this video:

I originally didn't have Kyle moving, but when I looked it up I was surprised to know his extension only lasts through this season according to jayski.

#24 will be #24...Gordon already said he doesn't want HMS to retire this number or anything. And I really hope no matter what, HMS shouldn't hire Elliott Chase because he's not good and just another temporary star which will go down the career ladder as soon as he hits the Cup car. So what that he's just a development driver...doesn't guarantee him a spot in HMS cup ride.

Obviously you've not seen Chase drive. You seem to dislike him for whatever reason. He's to boring, he's not good, he's just another temporary star. All you do is complain...

Pilot, you are trapped in your own little world, and don't get to see the short-track/dirt stuff. Chase Elliott is actually being put through K&N, Legends, etc. on purpose. You don't just have to shoot straight to Cup/NNS to be a superstar. (Ie- Biffle, Kenseth, Keselowski, Edwards, Earnhardt Jr). It takes time, through these levels (K&N-lower, USAC-professional) that a NASCAR driver is created.

you people are putting WAYYY to many changes into this. things are not going to change that much, hendrick will be the same along with roush , maybe adding pastrana for money. JGR will be the same. other very minimum change besides maybe EGR Penske adding a driver, and Petty

Before anyone makes jumps at anything I think the age of the drivers should be looked at....

Gordon, he really is at the end of his stick.

we have 15+ drivers in their mind 30's racing and are either just past or in their peak of racing skills.

3 years is 3 years, but I foresee some big shake ups. We got Brad keso (who is in his 20) along with Kybu (those are the two I can remember off hand.)

the only real shame here is that Kyle larson is a debelopment driver for ganassi ...... thats just going to put Kyle in some **** ass cars where he cant do jack ****. If anything - if Hendrick is smart he would keep open that "24" until jeff leaves and pounce on that kid when he is in a contract year.

Dillon brothers are going to do jack **** with RCR gear, true to say...

Nothing drastic will change, like big name guys switching teams. A few guys will retire like Burton and hopefully Bobby Labonte. Austin will have a couple full-time Cup seasons by 2016, and that will be Ty's rookie year in Cup. Larson might be in Cup by then with Ganassi. Mark Martin will finally decide to retire and Vickers will have the 55 all to himself, but that could possibly happen in 2014/15. Darrell Wallace will be a force in Nationwide, and running part-time Cup for JGR.

Why is everyone forgetting the Wood Brothers. I doubt they ever leave as long as the Wood's are part of the team.
